David is a Chartered Chemical Engineer with over 30 years consultancy experience in cost and carbon estimation, odour management, water, wastewater, sludge treatment and recycle/disposal, including several years’ experience delivering training courses in the wastewater sector. He also delivers collaborative workshops via WRc's Odour Management User Group, promoting good practice for municipal, industrial wastewater treatment and sewer networks.
This course provides delegates with understanding of the capability and features of WRc’s TR61 software, or 'Cost Information for Water Supply and Sewage Disposal Technical Report 61’.
The software allows up-to-date estimates of capital (CAPEX), operating (OPEX) and whole life costs, and estimates of embodied (building) and operational carbon emissions, with their monetary equivalents, in a manner consistent with Ofwat’s requirements.
With the TR61 software being updated every few years, and as new companies join the collaborative development project and new members of staff join those companies that have already signed-up, there is a need for training to ensure every new user understands the principles behind the software and knows how to use it to its full potential.
Delegates will have guided familiarisation of with the latest version of TR61 including new features and full capabilities, followed by hands-on experience of CAPEX and OPEX models. This will enable learners to:
