Whilst spreadsheets are well-suited to analysing small datasets with simple statistical tools, more specialised software is required to explore, visualise and make sense of more complex data.
This course allows for the upskilling of analysts to work more efficiently, accurately and transparently in a widely-used package which is free, open-source, flexible and powerful. While new users with little programming experience may find R to be a steep learning curve with a not-so-helpful 'Help' system, this course has been specifically designed to give industry professionals an accessible and hands-on introduction to the software. Participants may be drawn from any area of business or service which may currently rely on spreadsheets for day-to-day analysis of datasets and are looking to take their analyses to the next level. For example, scientists and engineers in utility and regulatory organisations, including those who do not have prior coding or statistical knowledge, looking for an accessible and hands-on introduction to the data analysis package R.
