Dr Imad Ahmed brings over 20 years of interdisciplinary scientific research and a decade of industry and business experience. Specialising in environmental nanomaterials, chemical sensors, and emerging pollutants, he adeptly anticipates technological trajectories, guiding research towards impactful industrial applications.
As the architect and lead of WRc Ventures Innovation Programme, Imad actively oversees the development of an innovative ecosystem combining research with practical industry solutions. His experience, shaped by academic roles, experience in the water sector, and a cleantech startup venture, positions him to bridge science, technology, industries, and government. By leveraging insights and fostering partnerships, he focuses on enabling and implementing meaningful innovations that address current challenges and future needs, ensuring lasting positive change.
Imad is a Chartered Chemist and visiting professor at the University of Oxford. He is a member of both the Royal Society of Chemistry and the International Water Association.
