Dr Karen Murrell, Principal Consultant (Water Quality & Environment)

Karen's expertise lies in river impact assessment and integrated catchment management involving river quality modelling (such as SIMPOL ICM) for WFD compliance, climate change impact assessment and Urban Pollution Management (UPM) studies. This includes determining impacts of weather-derived rural and urban pollution on receiving water quality. She also has extensive experience in consenting policy and application.

We're talking rivers, drainage and storm overflows

Unsurprisingly in light of recent UK Governmental debate and news headlines, this year's Urban Drainage Group Conference sold out with over two weeks to go, attracting 200 plus delegates (wait list now open).

Event Sponsors WRc are coming together with other industry-leading experts to continue to share best practice and emerging techniques to confront challenges surrounding storm overflows and wastewater pollution management. Offering a range of formal papers and workshops spread across 3 days, the industry-led exhibition and awards dinner provides ample opportunity for networking, celebrating, and catching up with colleagues.

WRc's Karen Murrell, Peter Henley and their teams will be talking rivers, drainage and storm overflows. Visit our stand to discuss the modelling and monitoring methodologies and tools relied upon by water companies for time-effective, cost-effective compliance with environmental standards. Speak to us about our WRcCSO design with retrofit potential which requires zero operational power, minimal maintenance costs, and actively reduces sewer litter being discharged from CSO spills.
