      Deborah Patroncini

      Senior Consultant

      Deborah Patroncini has a PhD in freshwater pollution. She has worked in a private company in Italy where she was involved in leading and managing a small team of freshwater macroinvertebrate surveyors. She has collaborated with the Environment Agency during her PhD, monitoring the River Lee waters in London. Deborah now is a Senior Consultant and works in the NCET team as Toxicologist, supporting the senior toxicologists in tasks associated with the delivery of toxicology risk profile assessments. She ensures that NCET team maintain technical excellence by checking the quality of the final work, applying her knowledge of ecotoxicity and human toxicity. For numerous years, Deborah was involved in advising the UK water companies on the toxicity and health implications of contaminants in drinking water. She advises the Environment Agency on the impact of pollutants on the environment, by supporting the Environmental Toxicology Advisory Service provided by WRc to the Environment Agency (EA) (24/7 service). She carries out Reg 31 approval applications, for those products in contact with drinking water. She is involved in the organisation of the WRc “PFAS & EC Forum”. In addition to her technical work, she has stepped into a client engagement role to help support and grow client relationships across the business. Deborah also covers Project Manager tasks. She is member of the British Toxicology Society.
