Our Equipment

The WRc level sensor test facilities allow the impacts of environmental influences on level sensor accuracy and performance to be assessed. The two rigs that comprise our level sensor testing facility enable manufacturers and suppliers to meet the environmental test requirements for certification under MCERTS.

The larger level sensor rig is equipped with a fully adustable plate to simulate fluid depth and an advanced draw-wire encoder accurate to 0.5mm. The plate has been modified to include an MDF layer which has been proven to more accurately simulate the reflective qualities of water than metal plates.

In addition, a smaller rig has been built in a controlled space to simulate the effect of solar radiation on ultrasonic levels sensors - a test required to comply with the MCERTS standard for level sensors.

Technical details:

  • 3 metres high Suitable for all types of non-contact level sensors
  • Traceable reference equipment
  • Simulated solar radiation

Hire and support:

There is a daily hire rate available. Charges for use of these facilities is dependent on requirements of use. Please use the contact form at the bottom of this page to discuss with us the best way we can help you.

Recent examples of use:

  • Research and development for MCERTS to enable test standards to be developed.
  • Used as part of laboratory testing projects for numerous MCERTS devices.
